Highly experienced systems engineer with extensive experience in virtual machine migrations and large-scale server management. I have a strong background in identity, email and load balancing across on premises and cloud. Over the past two decades of working within a diverse enterprise environment, I have developed skills across a range of disciplines including automation, systems engineering, systems design, Enterprise Architecture, leadership and IT change management.

- Architect responsible for the redesign of the University’s Research Data Management Solution based on MediaFlux and Pure Flashblade Storage.
- Utilising TOGAF 9 and iServer 365, I am building out the Security, Data and Application models for this system.
- Oversight of the expansion of colocated data centre services to enable completion of move to hybrid cloud architecture.

Senior Systems Engineer

Role Details & Achievements
- Responsible for the rollout of Teams Telephony to 3000 Staff, migrating from a Mitel PABX. Automated the account configuration and InTune Enrolment of 650 Yealink Teams handsets. Automated data matching across disparate data sets to fill the gap between organisation data and PABX data.
- Migrated the University’s AAF IdP from on-prem hosted to AAF Rapid IdP, integrating with Entra ID.
- Centralised DNS for several disparate AD Domains to a centralised, highly available infrastructure using Infoblox IPAM.
- Built out a Cloudflare and F5 LTM based proxy for The University’s Azure based critical applications.
- Automated the update to the access.conf and sudoers.d on our RHEL fleet to enable ssh discovery by Service-Now.
- Involved in response and investigation into a Cyber Security incident on our key student enrolment system.
- Automated the migration of Azure DNS Domain to Cloudflare using Python.
- Assisted our development team in debugging Web platform issues by using JSON Query to extract and process Cloudflare logs.

Role Details & Achievements
- Created a serverless web application to support the management of player match availability. Using a React front end, this service utilised AWS Cloudfront, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB and Cognito. Deployment pipeline automated using bash scripts.
- Automated the email migration from Drupal to Microsoft 365.
- Ongoing support of the environment including account lifecycle automation, email security / deliverability and end user support.

- Build and integration of the University’s Sitecore Web platform in Azure IaaS, utilising Cloudflare.
- Designed and built a RHEL based IPSec VPN tunnel to University of Melbourne, based on strongSwan.
- Deployed Azure Express Route connectivity via the AARNet networks dedicated 1Gbps links.
- Prototyped using an ELK stack to ingest Single Sign On logs from CA SiteMinder to visualise sign in Geo Location. Built a custom Grok pattern to ingest the CA log format.

- I worked on the Enterprise Architecture Design to underpin the University’s 2020 Vision. Using tailored TOGAF 9, the stream in which I worked dealt specifically with the Technology phase of the Architecture Development Model and how it should support the business outcomes.
- I conducted workshops with various stakeholders to gather requirements and presented them to C level and Associate Director level staff.
